Monash University in Frankston has been the home of our Tuesday night training sessions for the last two years. Sadly, our litte hall is being demolished so last night our wheels hit the floor for one last hurrah.
Last weekend MPRDC skaters Zoom, Zombettie, Mulisha and Smash skated with the Rolling Matildas at round 3 of the Statewide Stampede. Smash was our debut skater, who blew us away.
For many, roller derby is more than a sport. It’s a place to make friends who you’ll one day consider family, and a challenge to do things you’d never think you’d be able to do.
What an amazing experience this weekend was! Zombettie and Zoom were joined on track by Mulisha in her debut bout on the Sunday, playing against North East Roller Derby in what we reckon was the nail biting, heart stopping game of the weekend!
Mulisha (Bree Roden) Has been skating for a few years now, and many of you may have seen her around the derby world, most recently kicking some butt in the For the Love of Skate scrimmage last weekend with Dirty Deb!
The new skills and confidence this weekend gave all the skaters was truely amazing and really cemented everyone’s love for having wheels on their feet.
